OOTD: Men Who Like Lace

The long hours I have spent on window shopping recently, have made me certain of the trends that will be utterly abused by high street stores this Spring - one of them is a boxy, oversized shirt, preferably crisp white or striped.

It's an extremely versatile piece, especially if you decide to purchase one from Zara, H&M or any other store, as they have been 'tailored' by their designers to look more flattering than a shirt you would borrow from your uncle - they have narrower sleeves, asymetric length with a slightly cropped front, or are made to look more like a loose interpretation of a boyish shirt in the form of a short dress.

I have decided to accept the challenge (and it was a challenge, believe me) to style an actual, enormous men's shirt so it transforms from 'I just woke up in my boyfriend's house and have nothing to wear' to an outfit worth going out in.

Wearing little on the bottom turned out to be a good choice, as it made the legs look slimmer, and therefore de-bulked the whole figure. Then came the feminine pieces - a party chain bag, which acted as a form of a belt as well, a very ladylike lace vest that has taken off some of the shirt's width and made it look slimmer, as well as some blingy accessories - mermaid slip-on shoes I have written on here, as well as a shiny silver collar.

I have styled it as a daytime outfit, but it could be easily transformed into an interesting going out combination, simply by adding some high heels. Overall, I think I handled it quite well ;)

Have you been drawned to the oversized shirt trend yet? If yes, let me know how you style it !
