Hi Sopheaters!
<so lame, there's no one actually reading this shit but I came up with a general nickname for fans ANYWAY>
Today I've decided to post another part from my life diary which is called "spending money on stupid things". However, not fashion but makeup, yaay! Some of the stuff I bought and you can see in the picture I'm not going to go too much in depth with, as you are probably all familiar with such staples like Stay Matte powder by Rimmel or Revlon Colorstay foundation. I've repurchased these for I don't know how long, as they are the only products of this sort which actually work for me. The powder is absolutely amazing and not only because it's Tanya Burr's favourite, but I does leave you with a perfect looking skin all day (mine is dry, I can't promise that it will work as well on oily/combo). Onto the foundation, everything is just perfect and mindblowing about it- the price, the walking dead color range (hello pale faces!), the finish, the longevity- AAA! I don't think Columbus could have felt any better after discovering America than me when I bought and tried this out for the first time. Anyway, too much detail already, I can do a seperate review on it someday if anyone would be interested. The other stuff, also apart from the Falsies mascara (amazeballs!) is a bit more interesting so let's get cracking.
The Velvet Matte lipsticks I should probably announce as the Discovery of the Year. They retail for around 2 pounds and are the quality of Mac lipsticks, or for me- even better. They are super creamy but matte as hell, and as long as you take care of your lips regurarly and apply some balm beforhand you shouldn't have dry, disgusting lips. Of course, they do not last all day and might give a bit of an uncomfortable feeling of having heavy substance on the lips, but in general I just can't believe how matte, opaque and vanilla smelly they are! The color range is also great, beside this burgundy/deep brown and nude pink I also have a hibiscussy hot pink and orange red- also perfect! I catch myself wearing deep colors a lot more often than before now, as my 'russian red', however amazing, is a bit tough to put on nicely and it's always putting me off. Anyway, if you can get your hand on them, DO IT! You won't regret.
The next big thing I have found while creeping around Golden Rose counter was the Terracotta Stardust blush. It reminds me of the skin finish thing by Mac although I have never had it and probably will not ever own. It gives a lovely, gold toned shine and sparkle to cheekbones and can be worn as a blush just on it's own- the skin looks glowy, peachy, heathly and fresh. There is one downside however- it's not a product for the heavy handed girls. It has so much pigment and glitter that it can make you look like a disco ball in a second by just putting too much on. And then, it is a bitch to rub off your face, so be careful! Overall, for the ridiculous price of 6 pounds, it's definitely worth a try.
These three round matte beauties (My Secret matte eye shadow) in the fifth picture I got when I was searching for some smokey purples to do the grungy eyelid look with. I haven't found them really, but these were too perfect to leave behind so I bought them. I haven't been amazed by the yellow yet but I'm still trying to make it work. The other two, however…oh my! Bright pink is probably the best shadow for my eye color- it complements brown and hazel eyes beautifully. I'm taking it to festival DEFO! The other one I kept staring at for an hour after I had applied it for a night out a while ago. The pinky/dusky/purply color is something I have never seen before and it's actually magical, as when you blend it into the crease it gives the illusion of having a different shadow there. In other words, it's just brilliant! The makeup I did with this was just this shadow all over the lid and some gold in the inner corners and, believe it or not, my Boyfriend said it looked good! The fact that a guy had noticed a girl's makeup and liked it is surely enough to just go and buy it immediately, am I right?
Putting chocolate on your face and looking great at the same time? Thought it was impossible until I found this bronzer. I've been on a hunt for a good one for a while, but unfortunately I have neither access nor money to high end products like Mac, Nars and all that jazz. Bourjois chocolate bronzer costs only around 12 pounds and I've managed to get it even cheaper. I have to say that for a drugstore product it's just brilliant! My contour has never looked so natural and sunkissed as it does now- before the hollows of my cheeks used to be dark orange and disgusting. When you also count the lovely packaging, SMELL and beautiful finish it becomes a makeup perfection, well at least for me.
The last product is again by Golden Rose and it represents a line of nail polishes that I already talked about in my first ever post- it is the Rich Color nail polish. This color is just so perfect for summer- it looks like peach ice cream! I can't realy rave enough about how good this varnish is- opaque, always with great looking, rich colors and cheap as hell. What more do you want?
That is it guys- I think it's enough bragging about "how cheap you can get great makeup". Hopefully it helped some of you:)
Kisses,
