OOTD: A Study in Pink

When I first saw this blazer, I knew I had to have it - not because it's in 'Pantone Pink', as I don't really follow trends that blindly and would not commit to just wearing blues and pastel pinks all year; I was drawned to it because of the boxy, yet loose form, collarless neckline, as well as the intricate button detail, which instantly reminded me of something an Asian empress would wear on her kimonos.
As I do dress in full black outfits most of the time, I wanted to create a black base for this one too - to really give the blazer the full attention and background it needed. Silver details on the shoes and glasses were a match made in Heaven, making it all 'work' literally from head to toe. The eye clutch stayed in the colour scheme due to the pink details on it, only adding to the mysterious/futuristic/60's inspired aesthetic I managed to create by putting it all together.
Overall, I see this outfit as fun and quirky in a very polite, subtle, elegant even, way. It shows merely that you are flirting with high fashion, rather than shocking others will a full-blown romance. It is also a perfect opportunity for black wearers like me to include a bit of colour that won't make them look like a parrot that has lost its way to their own dark paradise.
I hope you liked this look as much as I did - there are more to come!
