The Soundtrack To My Life Tag!

I found this tag a few months ago through Lily Melrose's yt channel (she was the one who created it!) and I new I had to do it.

Music plays a huge role in my life and some bands, like Metallica , have been there for me when I was broken-hearted or upset. Although I'm in a happy place now and don't need James Hetfield's voice that much anymore, I still listen to them sometimes and see all the memories and places connected to particular songs in my head- it's incredible what music can do!

Here are some of the most special songs, but there are so many more I love and will remember forever- it was bloody hard to choose just one for each category grrr!

Song you listen to when you're happy?

Lately it has been Be Okay by Oh Honey. It is such a positive, summery song, it always lifts my mood and makes me want to jump in the middle of the street like a psycho. It reminds me of Glee too.

Song you listen to when you're sad?

I don't want to fill this list entirely with Metallica, so I will try to just squeeze them in one category- the whole Unforgiven collection. I think I love the third the most, but the second reminds me of a friend who I no longer keep in touch with. Anyway, sad songs- can't go wrong with Metallica as a whole.

What song will you have at your wedding?

I don't know if it's about the song I want to go down the aisle to or my first dance one so I will include both:) For quite some time now I've been imagining Neutron Star Collision by Muse as my down the aisle song- it is just perfect. The first dance one will have to be consulted with my husband-to-be but if it was just me it would have to be TakÄ… wodÄ… być by Happysad. It's the most beautiful and simple metaphor for Love and means a lot to us.

What song do you dance around the house to?

I usually dance around my room when tidying and putting a huge pile of clothes back to where it belongs (wardrobe, not chair or floor). Every single time I rape the replay button on one particular classic- Rags to Riches by Tony Bennett. So sassy.

Song you play on your headphones when out and about?

I simply can't go anywhere without my iPod as I feel like I can no longer walk without music on full volume in my ears. The best one for an early morning power walk (especially when I'm late) is I'm Addicted To You by Avicii. I love the beat, the voice, the lyrics- everything.

Song you listen to when you're angry?

I have loads of angry songs, one of the best ones being Ball And Chain by Janis Joplin. I wish I had her voice while having a mental breakdown or being pissed off, it just carries so much emotional pain.

Song you'd have at your funeral?

That is probably the hardest choice to make, but for now I think I would like to have Hey Jude by The Beatles. It would bring hope for the ones I left behind.

Song that makes you lose your shit at a party?

One hundred percent Waiting All Night by Rudimental. It even makes me lose my shit in my kitchen. My neighbours probably considered calling an exorcist. Many, many times.

The last song you listened to?

Strange by Grace Jones. So sexy, so mysterious, so original. And reminds me of Frantic and Emmanuelle Seigner. There is no other song like that.

Your karaoke song?

So cliche, but there is no other answer than Dancing Queen by Abba. Such a cringy song, but everyone secretly adores it. It's easy to sing in a group as well.

What song do you workout/exercise to?

I like powerful songs with strong voices when I workout cause I feel like they give me energy and keep me going. The best exercise singer is probably Lady Gaga- Marry The Night or Born This Way always make me feel like I can conquer the world. Especially when boxing.

Song with the most memories attached?

Pretty much everything Kings of Leon had ever recorded. I discovered them thanks to my boyfriend and we've been listening to them loads when we started dating. We still do, it's kind of 'our' band and we never get tired of it. Seeing them live was absolutely incredible. I think Closer is the most special song of them all.

Song that makes you cry?

Epitaph by King Crimson, every single time. I don't know what's with this song but it's just so sad it makes me feel like I'm drowning. It's that kind of music radio stations only play during national mourning. I don't blame them.

Song you hate the most?

I don't really hate songs that much- I just don't listen to the ones that are not my taste. There is one though that makes no sense at all, not to mention the music video- Bubble Butt by Major Lazer. So disgusting and just pointless.

Your favourite song of all time?

I'm probably going to change my mind in an hour but sod it, I'll leave it as it is. I've decided to go for Come On Eileen by Dexys Midnight Runners. It's a classic, you can dance around to it, it reminds of The Perks Of Being A Wallflower, one one my favourite songs and films. I have so many more though….

That's it for now, hope you enjoyed it! :)

Kisses,
