New Year's Eve Essentials

Today's New Year's Eve and, although I highly doubt it, some of you may still have no idea what they're wearing tonight. Everyone is celebrating the start of 2016 in a different style, group and venue, so I figured I would choose five things that will make you look like a million dollars wherever you may be on the 31st of December.

1. Warm fluffy coat 

You might be nice and cosy in a short dress when you're inside, but what happens when you have to go out and watch the fireworks? No one wants to freeze so a big, fuzzy coat is a real essential. Pick any style and colour that you like - I love shaggy pastel ones that effortlessly hang from your shoulders, turning you into a stylish Hollywood babe.

2. THE dress

With dresses, the choices are endless. You can go for a classic LBD, a sequin party frock, or even a jumpsuit if you prefer to have your legs covered. Everything depends on your personal preference - if you like bold jewellery and accessories, make the dress be your blank canvas. If not - go mental! Everything is allowed on New Year's Eve. Be sexy, but be comfortable as well - there is no need to suffer to be gorgeous.

3. Lipstick 

You may think a bold lip in not made for drinking and kissing, but as long as you pick a strong, matte formula, there is no force that could smudge it. A deep lip colour is great for those girls, who don't wear much makeup at all - you can go for a 'model' look, with perfect skin, big brows and a vampy purple or firemen red lips - no eye makeup needed!

4. A mini bag

If you are a minimalist and don't carry much with you, go for an envelope clutch or a wallet on a chain. If you feel the need to have EVERYTHING with you at all times, you might need something small, but big - like Mary Poppins' or Hermione's. This sequin bag is compact, but not stiff in structure, so you can fill it up with all sorts of shit you can't live without ;)

5. The perfect heels

Timeless black stilettos, blingy glitter platforms - whatever you choose for that special night, make sure you can walk and dance in them (not in the style of a baby t-rex, that's simply unacceptable). There is nothing worse than blisters before midnight - pick your pair wisely !

These are just some of my suggestions - you can interpret a 'coat' or a 'bag' in a thousand different ways!  Whatever you choose to wear, I hope you have the time of your life tonight, looking absolutely gorgeous ;)
